The island of Alatas with its olive grove is suitable for hiking. On this island is the monastery of the forty saints, which was a refuge of the Greeks during the revolution of 1821 against the Turkish occupation.
There are other islands such as Prasouda. Prasouda is a tiny island with wild vegetation around it and a ruined 14th century monastery in the middle. For a long time the only inhabitants here are the Gulls of the area. If you're friendly enough with them, they may let you take a picture with them.
The map also shows the location of small beautiful coves for swimming or diving. One of them is Tzasteni. The traditional building and the incomparable beauty of the crystal clear waters there make it one of the most famous places in South Pelion.
